Genuine OEM Piaggio engine thermostat for nearly all liquid cooled Vespa and Piaggio 200-350cc scooters. A critical maintenance item recommended for replacement every 10 years. Direct fit, no modification required. Cross references 82710R and AP8575009.
The thermostat is one of those parts that does its job quietly in the background until it doesn't. And when it fails, your engine either runs too hot or never reaches proper operating temperature. Neither is good for a liquid cooled scooter. Piaggio recommends swapping this out every 10 years as part of routine maintenance, and since most riders have never thought about it, it's a surprisingly common fix for bikes that have been on the road for a while.
This is the genuine OEM Piaggio thermostat, the same part used across a huge range of liquid cooled Vespa and Piaggio engines from the early 2000s all the way through current production models. It cross references part numbers 82710R and AP8575009, so if you've seen any of those numbers in a service manual or parts diagram, this is the one you need. Drop in replacement, no modification required.
If you're already doing a coolant flush or any other cooling system work, this is absolutely worth throwing in at the same time. The labor to get to it is the same whether you're doing one job or two, and a fresh thermostat gives you peace of mind for another decade. We'd also suggest picking up a new thermostat housing O-ring while you're at it — they're inexpensive and it just makes sense to replace the seal when you're in there.
Fits a very wide range of liquid cooled Vespa and Piaggio models. See the full compatibility list below.
